Good morning, Plano.

Photographer Thomas Sanders has spent 20 years photographing veterans at Belmont Village Senior Living to honor their service and record their military stories.

His Portraits of Service American Heroes Project displays images in a hallway and at airport terminals — preserving the legacy of those who served.

The East Plano Islamic Center filed a lawsuit in a Travis County district court on Wednesday to allow continuation of its Islamic funeral rites halted by a Texas Funeral Commission order from March — attorneys say that stopping these services has affected over 11 families — and argues the order violates constitutional rights.

Texas lawmakers have passed a law that requires convenience stores to use electronic scanners at checkouts to verify IDs - a measure pushed by a North Texas mother who lost her son in a drunk-driving crash - and stores must follow the law immediately.
