CULTURE NEWS

  • Undermain Theatre is showing Sam Shepard’s play Action, where four characters act out wild scenes with strong smells from cooked turkey and fish—tickets for the 50-minute show will be available until Dec. 7 at 3200 Main St. at prices from $18.50 to $48.50.  KERA

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Homeowners in the region are preparing to host visitors for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after the Dallas Short Term Rental Alliance held an info session in Oak Cliff on Friday. AT&T Stadium in Arlington will host nine matches from June 14 to July 14 and is expected to boost the regional economy by $2.1 billion.  NBC DFW

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fulton Elementary students learned about Texas wildlife this week when experts Edwin Quintero and Sam Wolfe led interactive lessons with help from Rockport-Fulton Middle School volunteers—middle schoolers joined on Nov. 11 to teach about reptiles, amphibians and shorebirds while students showed their thanks with homemade treats.  Plano Star Courier

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • North Texas toll roads including Dallas North Tollway, Bush Turnpike and Sam Rayburn Tollway in Plano are facing closures and detours this weekend due to construction and maintenance work — drivers should expect delays and check posted detour signs. The work began Friday night and will continue until Monday morning, with schedules subject to change based on weather.  The Dallas Morning News

HEALTH NEWS

  • North Texas researchers at Scottish Rite for Children received a $1 million grant to study how tracking menstrual cycles may reduce ACL injuries in teen female athletes. The study involves Plano East basketball team members in targeted workouts and will provide preliminary data in December—aiming to improve training and prevent reinjury.  NBC DFW
