- ➤ Plano’s Flags of Honor event displays 1,111 American flags at the Red Tail Pavilion on East Spring Creek Parkway today to honor local service members and to feature 64 new flags with QR codes that tell Medal of Honor recipient stories. At 3:00 p.m. today, Congressman Pat Fallon will present awards during ceremonies organized by the Plano East Rotary Club—volunteers help keep this Veterans Day tradition vibrant. NBC DFW
- ➤ Plano’s environmental health and sustainability department and Plano Fire-Rescue — hosting a free family event — will offer safe cooking tips and fire prevention advice to help keep Thanksgiving celebrations secure. - ➤ Local groups and businesses gathered at The Good Stuff Block Party last weekend to celebrate Plano Magazine’s 10th printaversary — Mayor Muns proclaimed November 8 as Plano Magazine Day during the event. Performances by the Plano Metropolitan Ballet and NTPA’s musical production, along with food from Urban Family Concepts, marked the community celebration. Plano Magazine
- ➤ Cinemark's Wanda Gierhart Fearing from Plano was elected vice chair of Cinema United—joining Harkins Theatres' Mike Bowers in a historic board decision. Her win marks a milestone that shows the movie chain’s growing role in national cinema leadership. Plano Star Courier

- ➤ High school teams across Texas have had their bi-district playoff matchups announced—Plano’s team will face Coppell at 7 p.m. Friday at Coppell’s Echols Field while many other schools compete in various regions and divisions. Plano Star Courier
- ➤ Texas Football magazine released the 2025 Class 4A high school football Bi-District schedules for games set from Nov. 14–16 — the schedule shows a game at Plano’s Kimbrough Stadium where Dallas Carter plays Frisco Panther Creek at 7:15 p.m. NBC DFW
- ➤ High school football playoffs last season featured a sixth straight meeting between South Grand Prairie and Lake Highlands—Lake Highlands had won the previous meeting 27 to 0 and led the series 3–2. Allen hosted Lewisville for their fourth playoff matchup since 2022 while other area teams including Plano, Mansfield Lake Ridge and Lincoln returned to the postseason. The Dallas Morning News
