  • Plano's upcoming The Good Stuff 10th Anniversary Block Party will showcase the city's vibrant foodie scene on Nov. 8 with local restaurants serving cocktails, food, and live entertainment. Tickets cost $10 with free entry for those 17 and under — local favorites like Urban Crust and Bob's Steak & Chop House are among the top picks celebrated for their unique flavors.  Plano Magazine
  • From Nov. 7-15, the 2025 Plano Flags of Honor tribute will be held at 2801 E Spring Creek Parkway. The free event will introduce three new additions—a Texan Medal of Honor Circle, a fallen heroes display and a living historians encampment—with other activities like a 5K fun run and patriotic chalk walk.  Plano Magazine
  • The Salvation Army of North Texas is launching its holiday campaign—inviting Plano community members to give the gift of joy and support local families—and will continue to offer services throughout the season.  NBC DFW

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Yum Brands said Tuesday it was exploring strategic options for its Plano-based Pizza Hut chain—its sales have fallen for seven quarters compared with Taco Bell and KFC—and no deadline has been set for a potential transaction.  The Dallas Morning News

CULTURE NEWS

  • North Texas Performing Arts will present its 15th annual Scrooge the Musical in Downtown Plano and at the Rodenbaugh Theatre at Willow Bend Center of the Arts from Dec. 10 to Dec. 14 and Dec. 7 to Dec. 21 respectively—featuring a record breaking cast of 150 performers and Gift to the Community shows with free tickets for veterans and underprivileged families. Veteran artist Darrell Rodenbaugh will return as Ebenezer Scrooge for his 125th performance.  Plano Magazine

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Two seniors from Plano East Senior High School, Ananya Nagendra and Kareem Hassanien, were named semifinalists for the Coca-Cola Scholars program after their applications were chosen from over 107,000 submissions. In late February, 150 finalists will be selected to attend a development program in Atlanta and receive a $20,000 scholarship.  Plano Magazine
