- ➤ North Texas' largest holiday market will return when 'Neath the Wreath's Ladies Night Out takes place on November 5 in Plano—shoppers will get early access to more than 125 vendors with festive drinks and nibbles while celebrating 30 years of tradition—and from November 6 to 9 the market will continue with ticket sales supporting the Junior League of Collin County's local efforts. - ➤ North Texas Food Bank wrapped up its 12th annual Peanut Butter Drive in September by collecting over $355,000 and about 85,000 pounds of peanut butter during Hunger Action Month, and it held an awards show on October 21 at its Perot Family Campus in Plano — recognizing top local contributors such as Plano ISD and Rice Middle School. Local groups were honored for their efforts in bringing neighbors together to fight hunger. Plano Magazine

- ➤ A pet monkey escaped from its owner and startled shoppers at Spirit Halloween in Plano, swinging from rafters and climbing store fixtures for about 30 minutes—police say it was safely coaxed down with a cookie—leaving many surprised at the unusual incident. NBC DFW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The North Texas Food Bank and its partners are working with over 500 local pantries to keep food distributions running during the government shutdown. - ➤ Residents at Evana Grove Apartments in Plano must vacate by (Nov. 4) after a court order found code violations (uninhabitable conditions), and city officials say local organizations will help residents relocate. NBC DFW
- ➤ The Upper Trinity Regional Water District and Carollo Engineers broke ground on Phase 2 of the Harpool Water Treatment Plant Expansion—doubling water treatment capacity for Denton and Collin counties to meet future needs. Plano Star Courier

- ➤ On Monday, Nov. 3, the Dallas Cowboys will host the Cardinals at AT&T Stadium at 7:15 p.m. on ABC/ESPN, with streams on Fubo and Sling and radio on 105.3 FM The Fan and 107.5 Mega — the Cowboys aim to improve their record before their bye week amid mild, sunny weather. NBC DFW
- ➤ The Dallas Stars are looking at building a $1 billion arena in Plano at the Shops at Willow Bend Mall site—a plan that may cause the team to leave downtown Dallas when their lease ends in 2031.
