  • Eric Benavides of Plano-based Fornidos showcased his company’s innovative building components at HUD’s Innovative Housing Showcase on the National Mall this week. The company, which can assemble a house in three days, is raising Series A funding and will build a Dallas-area factory by the end of the year — a move aimed at supplying more affordable housing options.  The Dallas Morning News

  • Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in Utah on Wednesday, and local faith leaders in Plano and beyond condemned the killing — calling him a fearless defender of faith — while urging that no political disagreement justifies such violence.  The Dallas Morning News
