GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Plano leaders voted on Monday, Jan. 13 to raise the city’s tax rate from 41.76 cents to 43.76 cents per $100 of assessed value when they adopted an almost $800 million budget amid slowing growth and rising costs. City officials said the increase would fund emergency needs—economic development, infrastructure repairs, and downtown improvements—even as some residents and council members pushed for a more gradual rise.
