Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 4th of September.
Good morning, Plano.
🏛️ Government
The Dallas Morning News is tracking key indicators in population, economy, housing, workforce, health, energy and infrastructure as part of the Future of North Texas initiative to help residents and officials plan for growth.
The project — developed in consultation with local experts and organizations — will update benchmarks as new data becomes available.
Suburban officials in the DFW region have set new rules to limit apartment building after a state law aimed at boosting housing passed, and Plano now requires new apartments to be at least 45 feet tall—measures intended to keep local design standards intact.
Builders are waiting to see which cities will fully support the law as they face higher costs and tighter controls.
