- ➤ The Family Place is launching its annual Partners Card fundraiser from today through Sept. 10 and has 20 Plano retailers offering discounts between 10 and 20 percent—customers who donate $100 or more will receive a discount card for use at select retailers and restaurants. Plano Magazine
- ➤ Future of North Texas will add eight journalists to cover how a growing population will affect local workforce, schools, roads, health care, energy and neighborhoods. The new team, which includes five already hired reporters, will launch the project this week—promising to track developments and listen to community concerns. The Dallas Morning News
