Good morning, Plano.

Plano hosts a slate of community events this month (from the musical '1776' at North Texas Performing Arts on July 2 to All-American 4th! at Oak Point Park on July 4 and a 21+ Bad Bunny Dance Party at Legacy Hall on July 11); many events offer free or paid entry.

While vacationing in Cabo San Lucas last week, Plano Fire Rescue Captain Chris Patterson helped contain a brush fire after noticing a man battling flames with sand — he later swapped firefighting advice with a retired Mexican firefighter as local crews arrived.

A Samsung advertisement featuring Spider-Man at the Plano HQ promoted the launch of spideytracker.com ahead of the movie’s July 31 release.

The tech ad follows Samsung’s plan to move its national headquarters from New Jersey — a shift that stirred local buzz after a security cam captured a masked figure.

Five new restaurants are opening in Plano as Yang’s Smokehouse held a ribbon cutting on June 26 at Legacy Jusgo — Darbar by Lyari will finish construction in August, Yo!

Bowl debuts early July, and Big Mike’s Bar & Grill plus Agha Juice & Cafe have also begun serving.
