ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The North Texas Wildlife Center in Plano must secure a new, larger location within 60 days or close due to residential zoning rules that limit its expansion. President Rebecca Hamlin said the center rescued over 2,500 animals since January 1 and now needs a facility with outdoor space—like a former daycare or church—to continue its rescue efforts.  FOX 4 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Dr. Lucy Wallace explained that younger women under 50 are being diagnosed with breast cancer at higher rates—possibly from genetic mutations, increased alcohol use, obesity, and environmental factors—and that these cancers often show up with larger tumors and lymph node involvement due to delayed detection; she recommended improving early screening and self-awareness to catch the disease sooner.  KERA
