  • Dallas moved up to 34 in the annual ParkScore ranking from Trust for Public Land, a four-place rise driven by improved park access—over 80% of residents now live within 10 minutes of a park. Plano ranked highest among Texas cities at 17th in the report.  KERA

CULTURE NEWS

  • Community members in Plano can bring mementos that represent lost relationships to the ArtCentre of Plano until July 31 as part of the Fragments of Us project led by Garage Arts Project, Plano Public Libraries, — and Collin College. The project will collect personal items and stories to be featured in theatre performances and an art exhibition starting October 8 at Collin College and the Bridges Festival.  Plano Magazine

  • Collin County officials alerted the public on May 27 that a measles case exposed people at four McKinney venues between May 19 and May 22—residents who are unvaccinated or show symptoms are urged to contact their healthcare provider promptly. Health officials are working with state services to continue monitoring the situation.  FOX 4 News

  • A study by WalletHub compared over 180 U.S. cities on family living factors and found Fremont ranked best while Overland Park came in second and Plano received high marks with one of the lowest violent crime rates — a key measure of safety.
