- ➤ Plano-based Darrell Rodenbaugh (CEO and full time volunteer at North Texas Performing Arts) won the Governor’s Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award at the Texas Governor’s Mansion in April. He has led the local children’s theatre for nearly 20 years, growing it into the largest youth theatre organization in the country. Plano Magazine
- ➤ Plano will honor Olympic gold medalist Amber Glenn with a public reception and proclamation ceremony on May 28 at the Plano Municipal Center (the event celebrates her international achievements). Plano Star Courier
- ➤ Denny Mosseller was named Volunteer of the Year by The Storehouse Community Center and threw the first pitch at a recent Frisco RoughRiders game. He has volunteered over 1,000 hours over the last 10 years, helping at the food pantry and teaching ESL classes. Plano Magazine
