- ➤ The Forman House, a Plano landmark formerly home to The Wooden Spoon Scandinavian Shop and Cultural Center, is now for sale for $1,375,000; Plano ISD will notify Virtual Academy lottery winners on May 15 and The Shops at Willow Bend will begin demolition next year as new restaurants open. - ➤ After losing daughter Lila in the July 4 floods, the Bonner family found hope—discovering a new baby on the horizon—and honored her memory at a sold-out benefit concert, Lila’s Lovefest, held May 5 to support the Lila’s Light foundation and advocate for camp safety. NBC DFW
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ AT&T plans a new world headquarters on a 54 acre site in Plano that will include a 280 foot tower seen as a mini Reunion Tower & one acre of green space with a pedestrian bridge. The City Council will vote on zoning changes May 26 to allow the project. NBC DFW
- ➤ Ziosk today announced that it will open a new 16,000 sqft service center at 2805 E Plano Parkway, expanding operations and creating over 20 local jobs. The facility will distribute its tabletop devices for fast casual restaurants and support long-term growth + improved service. Plano Magazine

- ➤ Last week, Plano ISD Barron Elementary hosted a Scholastic Book Fair where 344 students received three books each and 300 books were donated; Victor E. Green led an assembly while the Stars Xtreme Team ran a ball hockey clinic and presented a $15,000 check. Plano Magazine
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ After a May 1 accident spilled oil on Spring Creek Parkway, Plano city departments used booms and pumps to contain the leak from a tanker that overturned after a Mazda ran a red light. Plano will continue monitoring and coordinate with state and regional agencies as cleanup efforts progress. Plano Magazine
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Plano launched Plano Rides for older adults on May 4 using a Via app to request on-demand rides within 1.5 miles of the city. Rides are free until June 4 and riders can call if they do not have a smartphone. Plano Magazine
- ➤ Today, the City of Plano launched an interactive online map — a beta tool using data from the 2023 Urban Forestry tree inventory — that lets residents plan park visits by checking park sunlight and shade patterns. Plano Magazine

- ➤ Medical City Plano is moving forward with a $24M parking garage as part of its $108M expansion to add more beds, helipads and patient capacity across the hospital campus. Plano Star Courier
