Good morning, Plano.

Celina's $2.3 billion bond proposal is showing strong early support with 72% of voters backing plans to fund 11 new campuses and upgrade seven existing ones to handle rapid student growth—other Collin County districts like Blue Ridge and Melissa also report robust early votes amid a surge in new residents. Early voting results in school board races across the county indicate competitive contests that will shape future education planning.

Plano West students Giovanni Munthali, Kaitlyn Fan, and Anika Cherukuri won regional championships in various speech categories + the team also secured multiple wins at both district and regional levels.

Election results from May 3rd in Collin County were released after polls closed at 7 p.m.—the tallies cover contests for local offices such as city councils, school boards and propositions across several counties.

Early counts from 13,900 ballots show that Plano voters support the city’s largest bond referendum in history—valued at $650 million for projects including street improvements, a new police headquarters, and fire station upgrades—while also electing four new council members and reelecting Mayor John B. Muns unopposed. The unofficial results reveal proposition support ranging from 57% to 73% with an expected tax increase of 3.2 cents for an average home valued at $579,554.
