- ➤ At the annual Plano ISD Advanced Placement Art Exhibition — hosted at the ArtCentre of Plano — several seniors were honored with monetary awards and recognition by Plano ISD and Texas Health Plano. - ➤ DART began testing its new Silver Line rail project today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 26-mile route connects DFW Airport to east Plano + nearby cities and is set to offer passenger service later this year or early 2026. NBC DFW
- ➤ The Texas House voted 122—0 Friday to ban state contractors from using private investigators to collect detailed personal profiles beyond standard background research—penalties include immediate contract termination and fines up to $2 million. Rep. Jeff Leach of Plano filed the measure after reports showed a firm once collected extensive files on lawmakers and state employees. The Dallas Morning News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Texas health officials reported that the measles outbreak from Gaines County has grown to 683 cases with 89 hospitalizations and two child deaths among unvaccinated children. They said four measles cases in Dallas-Fort Worth are unrelated to the outbreak — the Denton County case is still under investigation. The Dallas Morning News
