Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 24th of April.
Good morning, Plano.
🏛️ Government
DART is expanding testing of its new 26-mile Silver Line that connects several North Texas cities including Plano, with full corridor simulations scheduled to begin the week of April 27 and no passengers allowed during stops.
Test runs will occur on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.—a step that advances the project toward full service later this summer.
Attorney General Ken Paxton requested documents from Plano ISD on April 23rd to aid his investigation into EPIC City—a planned Muslim-centric development in northern Dallas-Fort Worth—and to review communications following comments by Mayor John Muns.
His office and other state agencies will examine the records to check for possible law violations.
🏥 Health
Children's Health and the Dallas Cattle Baron's Ball will host the Patient Prom for 75 teenage patients on Friday evening with a cosmic cowboy theme to give them a magical prom night.
Neiman Marcus, JCPenney, Drybar, Lisa Ogle and Brite Beauty will supply dresses, suits and styling services — aiming to lift the spirits of teens in care.
