- ➤ Texas lawmakers have proposed bills to expand toll waivers for drivers—one would let veterans ride toll-free on a 41-mile stretch of SH 130 in Austin while another would exempt police, firefighters and paramedics from toll fees. The changes may ease the burden on some but will leave North Texas drivers facing confusing toll rules on privately operated roads. The Dallas Morning News

- ➤ Collin County health officials say an individual who visited a Walmart on N. Central Expressway, a Ross Dress For Less on N. Central Expressway, and a Dollar Tree on K Ave. in Plano on April 10 and 11 tested positive for measles amid a Texas outbreak. Officials advise anyone present at these stores to watch for symptoms until April 20 — the outbreak has already been linked to over 560 cases and a second child's death. The Dallas Morning News
