- ➤ Plano’s dining scene will soon get three new spots — Port of Subs is under construction on Renner Road from June 1 to Dec. 1, cult-favorite bakery Maman will renovate its Legacy East location from June 7 until Dec. 20, and Tongue in Cheek will open next in North Plano. Plano Magazine
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Collin College is hosting a free Student Art Invitational Exhibition in Plano from April 13 to May 7, showcasing student artwork in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics & more. The event will conclude with a closing reception on May 7. Plano Star Courier
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Plano ISD is launching a pilot virtual learning program for high school students with fully virtual and hybrid options. A webinar for interested parents is scheduled Monday, Apr. 13 at 6 p.m.—applications are open through Apr. 30 and notifications will be sent May 15. Plano Magazine
- ➤ Plano ISD students joined more than 1,500 attendees at the Peer-to-Peer Youth Mental Health Conference hosted by three local foundations on April 1-2; the event featured keynote Emma Benoit, interactive workshops and appearances by CHAMP and the Fort Worth Opera. Plano Magazine
- ➤ Plano Public Library won the Libraries Change Communities Award at the Texas Library Association conference for its Work Experience Program that trains adults with disabilities. The program partners with local groups — My Possibilities, Plano ISD’s Charmaine Solomon Adult Transition Center, and LifePath Systems — to help graduates secure jobs. Plano Magazine
- ➤ Collin College Technical Campus Preview Day will let visitors see a robotic dog, join a car meet, and explore more than 200 programs on Saturday, Apr. 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event welcomes everyone interested. Plano Star Courier

- ➤ Mayor John B. Muns and City Manager Mark Israelson visited SK Signet headquarters in Seoul where they toured its facilities and discussed future plans to expand EV charging infrastructure.
