GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • DART held a Tuesday hearing where riders expressed concern that if voters in Addison, Highland Park, and University Park choose withdrawal in the May 2 elections, those cities will lose bus, rail, and paratransit services, including Addison's Silver Line station to Plano.  KERA

HEALTH NEWS

  • As spring warms the area, various snakes (copperheads and rattlesnakes) are becoming active and residents are advised to stay alert and keep lawns trimmed. In case of a bite, seek immediate medical care by calling 911.  NBC DFW

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Gardening expert Mike Arnold noted that abnormal spring heat has moved up the gardening schedule by two to three weeks — he advises checking plants for winter damage and choosing drought-tolerant species like agave and Texas sage to prepare for a drier summer in Plano.  The Dallas Morning News

  • Plano approved a rezoning plan for Heritage Creekside that expands the development to include housing, office space, retail, and entertainment, meeting the area's growing needs.  Plano Star Courier
